Honorable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, MP inaugurated the four-day Police Week 2026 with the theme “My Police, My Country, Bangladesh First” at the annual police parade at Rajarbagh Police Lines Ground in Dhaka this morning.

At the inaugural ceremony of the event to be held from May 10 to 13, the Prime Minister inspected the orderly and spectacular parade and received the salute from the police contingent and flag-bearer team. During this, members of various units participated in the mesmerizing parade.

At the ceremony, the Prime Minister praised the professionalism of the police, the contribution of the force in ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order. Later, she delivered a directional speech to the police members.
The Prime Minister said that a modern, humane and people-friendly police force should be built by earning the trust of the people. She called on the police members to perform their duties with more dedication and honesty to improve the overall security of the country, crime prevention and quality of citizen services.
Various programs on the occasion of Police Week 2026 include special meetings, discussions, awards, training and exchange of views. Various aspects of improving the law and order situation in the country and increasing the capacity of the police force will also be discussed during this time.
