Minister for Education and Primary and Mass Education Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon was called on by Deputy High Commissioner of the British High Commission James Goldman at his office in the ministry in Dhaka on Thursday (April 23, 2026). State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj and Prime Minister’s Advisor on Education and Primary and Mass Education Mahdi Amin were present.
The Minister expressed his sincere gratitude for the UK’s continued cooperation in various fields, including education, in Bangladesh. In addition, he also praised the role of the British Council in the development of English education in this country. He called for further expansion of the field of scholarships in the UK to further increase the opportunities for higher education for Bangladeshi students.
The meeting expressed hope that the field of relations and cooperation between the two countries would further expand in the future. The delegation highly appreciated the steps taken by the Bangladesh government in various fields, including education.
The meeting was attended by Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) Team Leader Mohammad Golam Kibria, British Council Country Director Stephen Forbes, and Head of English and School Education Deepti Das, along with relevant officials.
