Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan has ordered executive engineers to personally verify the quality of all ongoing development work. He said that to ensure the quality of the ongoing work of the city corporation, executive engineers will have to verify the quality of work in their respective areas. If any substandard work is observed, it should be identified immediately and the work should be re-executed properly.
The administrator said these things at a meeting organized with contractors at Nagar Bhaban on Monday (March 30, 2026) to ensure the progress, quality and dynamism of all ongoing development work of Dhaka North City Corporation.
The administrator said, “There should be an effective understanding between DNCC and contractors. We do not want to work without anyone. We want to build a beautiful, modern and livable city with everyone.” He said that DNCC should be ahead of other city corporations in the country in terms of work and there will be no discrimination against anyone. He told the contractors that all the work should be completed within the stipulated time frame. If the work fails to be completed on time, necessary action will be taken against the concerned organization.
It was informed in the meeting that 348 development works are currently underway in Dhaka North City Corporation. Under these works, 215.65 km. Road, 215.13 km. Sewer and 67.59 km. Footpath development works are under implementation. In the meeting, the contractors of various works highlighted the various problems existing in the implementation of their works and sought DNCC’s assistance in resolving those problems.
DNCC Chief Engineer Brigadier General Syed Rakibul Hasan and other DNCC officials were present in the meeting.
