Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikram, MP from Bhola-3 constituency, has been unanimously elected as the Speaker of the 13th National Parliament.

The first session of the 13th National Parliament began at 11:05 am on Thursday (March 12, 2026). At the beginning of the session, the name of Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram was proposed for the post of Speaker, and the members of the Parliament unanimously elected him as the Speaker.

Immediately after the Speaker was elected, the session was adjourned for 30 minutes.
