Online Desk:
Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has formally inaugurated e-learning program in 12 schools in three hill districts. On Tuesday (January 27, 2026) afternoon, the Chief Advisor connected with teachers and students of three primary and nine secondary schools virtually from the State Guest House Jamuna and exchanged views.

E-learning program will be started in 149 selected primary and secondary schools in the three hill districts in phases as soon as possible.
Advisor to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Supradeep Chakma, Chief Advisor’s Chief Coordinator for SDGs Lamia Morshed, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology Fayez Ahmed Tayyab, and Secretary to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Mohammad Mizanur Rahman were present.

E-learning activities have started today at Rangamati’s Rani Dayamoyi High School, Kaptai Al-Amin Nooriya Dakhil Madrasa, Farua Lower Secondary School, Islamabad Government Primary School, Khagrachhari’s Kamalchhari Pilot High School, Hajachhari Junior High School, Manikchhari Girls’ High School, Puzgang Mukh Government Primary School, Bandarban’s Balaghata Ideal School, Haji Firoza Begum Wami Academy, Tindu Junior High School, and Bagamukh Para Government Primary School.
At the event, the Chief Advisor said, “The internet has reached the whole world but it has not reached you. The government is responsible for the fact that this has not happened so far. We apologize. Today, we started with only 12 schools. However, it is supposed to start in 3,500 schools. We have to reach that goal very soon.”
The Chief Advisor said, “How many such beautiful places are there in the world? But good teachers don’t want to go there. Because communication has to be cut off. The fun of the internet is that now you don’t have to depend on a single teacher. The teacher will teach you from wherever you are in the world. You can study with the teacher of your choice. The quality of your education will not decrease due to the absence of a teacher.
‘You will be able to know what is happening in the world through the internet. Another important issue is health. Good doctors are not available in remote places. If you have internet, you can communicate with doctors wherever they are. You can get advice and medicine,’ said the chief advisor.
He also said, ‘We are all citizens of this country. You will also get the rights that other citizens get. God has given you intelligence and qualifications like everyone else. There is no reason to be deprived. You will also get equal benefits. The inability to provide this is the government’s incompetence, let us come out of this incompetence.’
Later, the chief advisor exchanged views virtually with some teachers and students. Students and teachers thanked and appreciated the chief advisor for starting the e-learning program.
Advisor to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Supradeep Chakma, said, “Today, the government has fulfilled its promise through this program. A new horizon is being opened in the Hill Tracts in education. We will start e-learning programs in 149 schools one by one. We need to reach more schools. The government does not want to leave the people of the Hill Tracts behind. The people of the Hill Tracts also do not want to be left behind. We want the whole of Bangladesh and the whole world to be more connected with the Chittagong Hill Tracts.”
