Vietnamese Ambassador to Dhaka gives special message in ‘Special January, 2026 Edition’ of “Business in Bangladesh Newsletter” on the occasion of English New Year
Dear Bangladeshi friends,
On the occasion of the New Year 2026, on behalf of the Embassy of Vietnam in Bangladesh and in my own name, I would like to convey to the Government and people of Bangladesh my warmest congratulations.
During my Ambassadorial tenure in Bangladesh, I have had a great pleasure to study the history and remarkable socio-economic development of this beautiful country. Overcoming all difficulties and challenges, Bangladesh has successfully transformed to one of the fastest-growing economies. Bangladesh is now the second highest economy in South Asia region, and also the second largest exporter in ready-made garment sector of the world. To my belief, it is certain that, with the traits of Bangladeshi people and the great potentials of your country, Bangladesh will be more developed and prosperous.
As for Vietnam, over the past 80 years, inheriting President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts on national independence and diplomacy, the Communist Party of Vietnam and Vietnamese people have tirelessly strived to defend national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and freedom. Up to now, Vietnam has become a middle-income developing country, ranked as the 34th largest economy in the world. Vietnam has established official diplomatic relations with 193 member states of the United Nations and set up partnership frameworks with 38 leading partners, including neighboring countries, powerful nations, and traditional friends. Vietnam also actively participates in regional and international organizations, and promoted proactive role in all activities at multilateral institutions. I strongly believe that, under the visionary directions of the two Governments, Vietnam and Bangladesh will soon become prosperous nations in the very near future.
Over the past 52 years, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Bangladesh has flourished with substantial achievements. The two countries share a lot of similarities in terms of historical background and current socio-economic development. In the past, both countries strongly supported each other in the national liberation. Now, we are supporting each other during the current socio-economic development and in the international forums.I believe that, with the determination of the two Governments, the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Bangladesh will be further consolidated and expanded, in the interests of our two peoples and for the sake of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and over the world.
Vietnam will always be a good friend and reliable partner of Bangladesh.On this occasion, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Government and people of Bangladesh, who have always stood shoulder to shoulder with us in the past resistance war for national independence as well as in the cause of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam today. Your good sentiments and valuable support will be remembered by the Government of Vietnam and kept in the heart of all the Vietnamese people. In the coming time, the Embassy of Vietnam in Bangladesh and I will continue doing the needful to foster the cooperation between the two Governments and become the bridge connecting our peoples.
We are indeed celebrating the New Year 2026 with promising future. I wish you good health, luck, happiness and great success.
