A joint meeting of the Vigilance and Observation Committee and the Law and Order Cell was held in Dhaka with the aim of organizing the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum in a fair, peaceful and acceptable manner.
The meeting was held on Tuesday (January 20, 2026) under the chairmanship of Mr. Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Divisional Commissioner and Returning Officer of Dhaka Division.
Senior officers of the army and police deployed in the 13 parliamentary constituencies of Dhaka Metropolitan City, representatives of Ansar, Fire Service and Civil Defense, members of the Vigilance and Observation Committee and concerned Assistant Returning Officers were present in the meeting.
In the meeting, the Returning Officer gave a directional speech focusing on the upcoming elections and referendum, emphasizing overall preparation, security arrangements, polling station management, law and order situation control, and mutual coordination among the responsible agencies. He instructed all concerned to discharge their duties with professionalism, impartiality, and collective efforts.
