Advisor to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Adilur Rahman Khan, said, ‘A referendum is essential to implement the July Charter. Because Bangladesh has been freed from fascism through the July Uprising.’

He said, ‘The government has taken the initiative to implement the July Charter. That is why the government is expecting a ‘yes’ vote in the referendum. Therefore, regardless of party affiliation and all in the administration must work for a ‘yes’ vote.’

At that time, Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Ahsan, Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works Md. Nazrul Islam; Local Government Department Secretary Md. Rezaul Maksud Zahedi; Rural Development and Cooperatives Department Secretary Md. Shawkat Rashid Chowdhury, along with senior officials of the local administration and police administration were present.
