We are not participating in this election to come to power: Nahid Islam

The National Citizens Party (NCP) is not participating in the upcoming election with the aim of coming to power, party convener Nahid Islam has said.

He made this comment at a press conference after announcing the names of the candidates who have been nominated for the primary elections for 125 seats on Wednesday (December 10).

The top NCP leader said, ‘We are not participating in this election for power, to come to power. We are not participating in this election considering how many seats we will get or not. If we had to secure seats, we would have joined some alliance.’

He said that they will campaign for the ‘yes’ vote with the aim of implementing the achievements of the reforms.
