BGMEA-BFF sign MoU for garment workers’ welfare and football development

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the welfare of Bangladesh’s garment workers, promote football and showcase the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ brand more strongly on the global stage. BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan and BFF President Tabith Awal signed the MoU at a ceremony held at the Nurul Quader Auditorium of BGMEA Complex in Uttara on Sunday (30 November 2025). Through this MoU, BGMEA has achieved a new milestone by becoming the first trade body to establish a formal partnership with a sports body in the country.

BGMEA Senior Vice President Enamul Haque Khan (Bablu), Vice President Md. Rezwan Selim, Vice President (Finance) Mizanur Rahman, Vice President Md. Shihab Uddoza Chowdhury, Director Shah Raed Chowdhury, Director Nafis-ud-Doula, Director Sheikh Hossain Mohammad Mostafiz, Director Kazi Mizanur Rahman, Director Asef Kamal Pasha, Director Mohammad Sohel, Sports Committee Chairman Md. Sajjad Ali Khan, Press, Publication and Publicity Committee Chairman Mohammad Masud Kabir and Branding Committee Chairman Khan Monirul Alam (Shubh) were present at the event. On the other hand, Vice President Fahad Mohammad Ahmed Karim and Executive Member Iqbal Hossain were present from BFF.

The main objective of the MoU is to improve the quality of life of garment industry workers and open new horizons in the progress of football in the country through joint programs, training initiatives, talent development and sports-related welfare activities. Speaking at the event, BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan said that this joint journey of industry and sports will take Bangladesh’s global prestige to new heights. BFF President Tabith Awal said that this agreement will play an important role in spreading football widely at the grassroots level and will create new opportunities for the garment industry and football to work together for the country.

BGMEA Director Shah Raeed Chowdhury, whose initiative led to the successful completion of this MoU signing process, delivered a welcome speech at the beginning of the event. BGMEA Senior Vice President, Vice President (Finance) Mizanur Rahman and BFF Vice President Fahad Mohammad Ahmed Karim also spoke.
