In a notable gesture of social responsibility, the Sri Lanka MICE Expo 2025, the country’s premier platform for showcasing Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) capabilities to the global market, extended its support to a humanitarian cause by making a donation to “The T.E.A Project” (Empowering Children).

The donation ceremony was held on Friday (26 September 2025) on the sidelines of the Expo. Mr. Dheera Hettiarachchi, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, and Mrs. Malkanthi Welikala, Marketing Manager of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, formally handed over the donation to officials of The T.E.A Project, a Sri Lankan non-profit organization dedicated to empowering underprivileged children, particularly those in tea plantation communities.

Organized by the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau under the Ministry of Tourism, the Sri Lanka MICE Expo 2025 (22–26 September) brought together international delegates, tour operators, and industry leaders to explore Sri Lanka’s growing potential as a leading MICE destination. This philanthropic initiative added a humanitarian dimension to the event, reflecting the Expo’s commitment to inclusive, sustainable, and socially responsible development.
