High-Level Yunnan Province Delegation Visits BCCCI to Explore Trade & Investment Opportunities

A high-profile 15-member delegation from Yunnan Province of China paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) at Gulshan-2, Dhaka on Tuesday (23 September, 2025). The delegation was led by Hao Yishan, Deputy Director General of the Department of Commerce, Provincial People’s Government of Yunnan, China.

The discussion meeting was presided over by Mst. Nargis Murshida, Administrator of BCCCI, who warmly welcomed the Yunnan delegation. BCCCI was represented by its members including Brig Gen G M Quamrul Islam, SPP, ndc, psc, Khandaker Atiqur Rahman, Wasim Zakaria, A T M Altaf Hossain-Lotus, Md. Kamruzzaman, SK Md Ruhul Amin and Md. Abdul Sabur Khan. Md. Abu Taher, Office Secretary of BCCCI, and Li Xiao jointly moderated the business discussion session.

The meeting focused on prospective areas of bilateral cooperation such as renewable energy, construction, AI and intelligent manufacturing, new energy, carbon nanomaterials, medical devices, green environmental protection, ESG international standards, green industrial transformation, agriculture, and emergency disaster rescue initiatives.

In her remarks, the BCCCI Administrator highlighted the importance of introducing innovative science and technology-based solutions, stating, “Modern age demands modern approaches and product diversity. This bilateral meeting is expected to address scopes and opportunities for new approaches both within the existing perimeter and by forging new partnerships.”

Hao Yishan, leader of the Yunnan delegation, referred to China’s continued cooperation with Bangladesh, particularly Yunnan Province, and cited recent visits of Bangladeshi high officials to Yunnan. He expressed his vision for greater bilateral cooperation between enterprises of Bangladesh and Yunnan Province in the coming days.

During the discussions, Md. Faizul Alam emphasized the importance of holding fairs and expos to promote Bangladeshi exports such as pineapple, jackfruit, guava, and mango; A T M Altaf Hossain-Lotus stressed improving logistics and supply chains; while SK Md Ruhul Amin highlighted the huge potential of solar energy under alternative energy trade cooperation. Other members also shared views on enhancing Bangladesh-China bilateral trade to a far-reaching level.
