A Bangladesh delegation led by Saiful Islam, Managing Director of Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services (BOESEL), the government recruiting agency, held a bilateral meeting with the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM). The meeting, held at the FMM meeting room on Tuesday (September 24, 2025) morning, was attended by FMM Deputy President Jacob Lee and representatives of various companies.

On behalf of BOESEL, Saiful Islam expressed his gratitude to FMM member companies for recruiting skilled workers from Bangladesh and urged them to cooperate with BOESEL. Various issues related to worker welfare and bilateral interests related to labor were also discussed.
The FMM members praised the efficiency of Bangladeshi workers and expressed interest in recruiting them in the future. They emphasized training to enhance the skills of Bangladeshi workers, considering the realities of the future workplace and competition.
Also present from FMM were Dato’ Nathan K. Suppiya, Vice President and Chairman of the Human Resource Management Committee, Ms. Hema Thiruchelvam, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Ms. Sofinar Abdul Halim, and Senior Executive, Business Environment Division. Joining online were Mr. Mazlan Haron, Ms. Karen Yong, Mr. Yeo Cheng Por, Mr. Hilmi and Ms. Annie Oi.

The Bangladeshi delegation included Acting High Commissioner Mosammat Shahanara Monika, Policy Advisor of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Zia Hasan, Deputy Secretary Hedayetul Islam Mondal, BOESEL’s Authorized Agent in Malaysia Jaswant Singh, BOESEL’s General Manager and Focal Point Noor Ahmed, and First Secretary (Commercial) of the High Commission Pranab Kumar Ghosh.
After the meeting, the BOESEL delegation held meetings with various Malaysian government departments on September 23 and 24 to discuss increasing cooperation on various issues including recruitment, training and accreditation of Bangladeshi workers.
