The family of Didarul Islam, a Bangladeshi-origin American police officer who was killed in a gun attack, met with Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus. The chief advisor expressed deep condolences to his family on Didarul’s death.
On Monday night (September 22, 2025) local time, Didarul Islam’s family members met the chief advisor at a hotel in New York.
The Chief Adviser presented a crest to Didarul Islam’s family members as a tribute.
Didarul Islam’s father Mohammad Abdur Rab, mother Minara Begum, two sons Ayhan Islam and Azhan Islam, brother Kamrul Hasan, nephew Adian Hasan, sister Nadima Begum and uncle Ahmed Jamal Uddin were present at the time. Also present were National Citizens Party (NCP) Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain and Joint Convener Dr. Tasnim Zara, who accompanied the Chief Adviser.
