Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry holds business networking event

The Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI) has organized a business networking event for German companies operating in Bangladesh. The event, held at The Westin Hotel in Dhaka on Sunday (14 September 2025), was attended by representatives of German businesses and companies from European Union countries.

The chief guest of the event was Mrs. Anja Kersten, Deputy Head of Mission and CDA of the German Embassy in Dhaka. While welcoming the chief guest and other guests, BGCCI President M. Maksud highlighted the important contribution of Germany and the European Union to the economy of Bangladesh. He specifically mentioned Germany’s role in ready-made garments, leather, footwear, renewable energy and emerging export sectors and reiterated the commitment to act as a bridge between business and trade, government institutions and diplomatic partners.

Ms. Anja Kersten said that Bangladesh is an important partner for Germany, especially in the ready-made garments, renewable energy and emerging industries sectors. She expressed her hope to work closely with BGCCI and the business community to deepen bilateral relations and explore new cooperation opportunities.

The chairman of the event, Md. Raknuzzaman, moderated the event. He thanked the participating companies and partners and highlighted the importance of organizing regular networking events, which are conducive to dialogue, knowledge exchange and partnership building.

At the end of the event, representatives of German and Bangladeshi companies directly exchanged views in an open networking session and explored the possibilities of future cooperation in the dynamic market of Bangladesh.
