International Togyzqumalaq Day Celebrated in Dhaka

The International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association successfully organized “International Togyzqumalaq Day 2025” at the Smart Sports Academy, Dhaka. The event was led by Md Al Mamun, Vice-President of the World Togyzqumalaq Federation, Founder of Togyzqumalaq ethnosport in Bangladesh, and President of the International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association.

The celebration brought together around 60 students from various educational institutions in Dhaka, who actively participated in training sessions focused on the rules, strategies, and practical aspects of the game. The program was conducted by the Association’s trainers, Mohammad Rehanuddin and Mohammad Shahjahan.

Speaking on the occasion, Md Al Mamun emphasized the importance of promoting intellectual games like Togyzqumalaq/Toguz Korgool ethnosport in Bangladesh, highlighting their role in fostering youth development, cultural exchange, and international recognition.

Togyzqumalaq/Toguz Korgool, an ancient intellectual heritage game, is recognized for its wide range of cognitive, social, and personal benefits. It improves memory, concentration, problem-solving abilities, creativity, and logical thinking. The game also cultivates patience, resilience, sportsmanship, emotional intelligence, and self-confidence. Furthermore, it contributes to brain health, helps slow cognitive decline, and serves as a stimulating and inclusive social activity for people of all ages.

This event marks an important step in the ongoing efforts to introduce and expand Togyzqumalaq ethnosport across Bangladesh, encouraging the younger generation to embrace both cultural heritage and mental development through ethnosports.
