The National Consensus Commission has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft into a building at Milestone School and College in Uttara. A formal condolence resolution was adopted before the start of the 17th day of the second phase of the political dialogue held at the Doel Hall of the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Tuesday, in which leaders of 30 political parties signed it.
Commission member Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder read out the resolution. The condolence resolution prayed for the eternal peace of the souls of all the students killed in the accident, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. Deepest condolences were expressed to the families of the deceased and injured.
The resolution demanded that the government provide appropriate compensation to the affected families, ensure proper medical treatment to the injured, and conduct a thorough investigation into the accident. At the same time, it called for effective steps to prevent the recurrence of such accidents.
The political parties that have signed the condolence resolution include: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, National Citizens Party (NCP), Gana Adhikar Parishad, Gana Sanghati Andolan, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Revolutionary Workers Party, Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party, and 22 other registered and unregistered political parties.
