14th BTTF to begin in Dhaka on October 29, more than 20 countries to participate

Mohammad Shajibul-Al-Rajib:

One of the largest events in the country’s tourism sector, the 14th Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) 2026, will begin in Dhaka on October 29. The three-day international tourism fair will continue until October 31. The title sponsor of this year’s fair is US-Bangla Airlines.

Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) President Mohammad Hanif highlighted various aspects of the organization and preparation of the fair at a program organized at a hotel in the capital on Monday (September 20, 2026).

He said that this year’s BTTF will be held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC). Representatives of tourism-related organizations, tour operators and travel agencies from more than 20 countries are expected to participate in it. Nepal, India, Singapore, Maldives and the Philippines have already confirmed their participation. Besides, participants from Turkey, United Arab Emirates, China, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Thailand, Brunei, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Azerbaijan are also expected to join the fair.

General Manager (Public Relations) of US-Bangla Airlines, the title sponsor of the fair, Md. Kamrul Islam, said that BTTF will play an important role in further advancing the aviation and tourism industry of Bangladesh. He also mentioned that US-Bangla Airlines has an important role in the current progress of the country’s aviation sector.

He said that 20 to 22 percent of the share of Bangladesh’s airspace is currently in the hands of the country. US-Bangla Airlines is behind this. He also claimed that without the organization, this share would have fallen below 10 percent.

Highlighting the international expansion plans of US-Bangla Airlines, Kamrul Islam said that there are plans to launch flights to important destinations like Brunei, Bahrain, Kuwait, Salalah, Penang and Johor Bahru soon. At the same time, initiatives are being taken to further expand the network of international routes.

He said that US-Bangla Airlines also has plans to operate flights to important international destinations like London, Rome, New York and Toronto within the next five years.

The aim of this fair, organized by TOAB, is to develop the country’s tourism industry, create new business opportunities and expand tourism cooperation at the international and regional levels. The organizers expect that opportunities for business expansion will be created by bringing tour operators, airlines, hotels, tourism boards, travel agencies and other related organizations under one roof.

According to the information provided by the organizers, BTTF 2026 will have more than 200 booths and stalls. It is expected to attract over 220 exhibitors, over 250 qualified buyers, around 2,500 trade visitors and over 60,000 visitors. Over 200 airlines, hotels and tour operators will participate in the four themed exhibition halls.

The organizers expect that BTTF 2026 will serve as an important international platform for the tourism industry of Bangladesh by providing opportunities for direct communication, business agreements and mutual cooperation between domestic and foreign tourism stakeholders.
