Minister of Social Welfare and Women and Children Ministry Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain said that we will build the country together under the leadership of the current government’s Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. He said that thousands of people lost their lives in the Liberation War of 1971 and the mass uprising of 24. Today’s Bangladesh is in exchange for many sacrifices. We have many responsibilities towards the people of this country. We want to properly fulfill the mandate given to us by the people. For this, I seek your cooperation in the development of this ministry, above party affiliation.
The minister said these things at a view-exchange meeting organized by the Ministry of Social Welfare with officials and employees in the meeting room of the ministry on Wednesday (February 18, 2026). State Minister for Social Welfare and Women and Children Ministry Farzana Sharmin was present at the view-exchange meeting. In addition, Secretary Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf and senior officials of the ministry were present.
The Minister of Social Welfare and Women and Children said, many people have been lost in the democratic progress. Stating that we have not yet heard about Ilyas Ali, he said, 800 such people are still missing. He said, we call this highway of development – if you do not walk on this highway, you will not understand how far behind we are. He also said, we have not come here to earn any money. We will be frugal and my cooperation in all aspects will continue for the development of this ministry.
State Minister of Social Welfare and Women and Children Farzana Sharmin said, I have come to sit in my father’s previous place. I want to take the activities of this ministry further. For this, I seek your cooperation.
Earlier, Minister of Social Welfare and Women and Children Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain and State Minister Farzana Sharmin were welcomed with floral greetings by the secretaries and officials of both the ministries.
