Desk Report:
Minister of Labor and Employment and Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ariful Haque Chowdhury said, “Our mission is one, we have to work according to people’s expectations.” He said, “To work, we have to work team-wise. Only then will we be successful. We have to move forward according to the guidelines we have in working, the manifesto of our party.”
The minister said these things at an introductory meeting with the officials and employees of the ministry on the first working day at the Ministry of Labor and Employment on Wednesday (February 18, 2026). Earlier, senior officials including the secretary of the ministry welcomed the minister and the state minister.
The minister also said, “Looking at the work that has been done in the past one year, it will be clear what are the shortcomings. The country is ours. We have to create a target for what we will do in the next 100 days.”
Ariful Haque Chowdhury told the officials, “You have worked for a long time, you have experience. We will not go beyond the rules of business in terms of work. Wherever necessary, we will clearly inform you. We have to work for the people. We have to inform the relevant authorities about what needs to be informed. We have to be proactive in advance so that there is no labor dissatisfaction in labor-intensive industries or factories before Eid-ul-Fitr at the end of the month of Ramadan.”
At the introductory meeting, State Minister Md. Nurul Haque, who has just joined the Ministry of Labor and Employment, said, “A work plan for the first three months has to be prepared, so that it can be said that we have done these works in the first three months.”
The State Minister also said, “The former advisor has given several suggestions, we will take his advice into account. We have to keep that in mind in mind that there will be some movements during Eid.”
Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Sarwar Jahan Bhuiyan and senior officials of the ministry and departmental organizations were present at the time.
