United States celebrated 249th Independence Day in Dhaka

The US Embassy in Dhaka hosted a diplomatic reception on Wednesday (July 2, 2025) to mark the 249th Independence Day of the United States in Dhaka.

US Chargé d’Affaires Tracy Anne Jacobson thanked the guests for attending the event.

Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, Adviser for Finance and Science & Technology to the interim government, attended the reception as the guest of honour.

Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed was also present, along with a distinguished gathering of political leaders, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, civil society representatives, cultural personalities, and human rights advocates.

The event commenced with the rendition of the national anthems of both Bangladesh and the United States, symbolizing the enduring friendship between the two nations.
