Undersecretary of State of the Italian Ministry of Defense delegation paid a courtesy call on the Army Chief

A delegation led by H.E. Matteo Perego Di Cremnago, Undersecretary of State of the Italian Ministry of Defense, paid a courtesy call on the Army Chief at the Army Headquarters on Tuesday (January 20, 2026). During the meeting, they exchanged mutual greetings and discussed various aspects of further strengthening bilateral military cooperation between Bangladesh and Italy.

The Honorable Undersecretary of State expressed the interest of the Italian government in providing possible assistance to develop the defense industry capacity of Bangladesh. He praised the dedication and professionalism of Bangladeshi peacekeepers in the UN peacekeeping operation and expressed deep condolences and respect for the members of the Bangladesh Army who were martyred in Abyei. The Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh was also present during the meeting.
