The funeral prayer of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Mukti Bahini and former Chief of the Air Force, freedom fighter Air Vice Marshal AK Khandaker, Bir Uttam (Retd) was held today with due dignity and solemnity at the Air Force Base Bashar Parade Ground on Sunday (21 December 2025). The Honorable Principal Advisor, Honorable Advisor Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Chiefs of Army, Navy and Air Force, and other dignitaries were present at the funeral prayer to pay their last respects to this great hero.
It is to be noted that he passed away at 10:35 am yesterday while undergoing treatment at CMH, Dhaka. The nation will remember his outstanding contribution in the great Liberation War with deep respect and gratitude. On behalf of the Bangladesh Army, we pray for the eternal peace of this great hero and express our deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
