The 1st meeting of Standing Committee on Youth Entrepreneurship of FBCCI was held for the first time.

The members of the committee demanded to facilitate the obtaining of finance, trade license and other licenses for young entrepreneurs.

They made this call in the 1st meeting of FBCCI Standing Committee on Youth Entrepreneurship organized for the first time on Sunday June 30, 2024 afternoon. At this time, the businessmen drew the attention of the relevant authorities with the proposal to facilitate the obtaining of finance, trade license and other licenses with the young entrepreneurs, obtaining bank loans at low interest and creating a website/portal for the young entrepreneurs.

FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam participated virtually as chief guest in the meeting. Addressing the young businessmen, “Now is the best time for the youth to go to war.”

He said, being an entrepreneur is not an easy thing. As a young entrepreneur has to go through many ups and downs, he has to constantly face new challenges. That’s why young entrepreneurs should keep a strong vision and work with integrity, only then will the desired success be achieved.

Mahbubul Alam also said that the youth of the country will be the artisans of building a smart Bangladesh in 2041. In this era of artificial intelligence where manual work will decrease day by day, where young entrepreneurs have to be creative and flexible in business thinking. He also commented that the young entrepreneurs of the country will be successful if they can work with honesty and sincerity with big dreams.

Senior Vice President of FBCCI. Amin Helali said, the country has a large number of young manpower. This is the great strength of this country. Global business is constantly changing. The young generation of the country should contribute in this regard.

Chairman of FBCCI Standing Committee on Youth Entrepreneurship Engr. Md. Shajibul-Al-Rajib presided over the meeting. The meeting lasted from 3 pm to about 6:30 pm under his excellent and sincere chairmanship. He is keen to work on skill development of young entrepreneurs along with creating a website/portal for young entrepreneurs and to find ways to solve problems and in view of their interest in participating in open discussion, the committee members promised to hold the next meeting with more time.

Standing committee director in-charge. Kawsar Ahmed said, the young generation wants to be established by working with their own plans. But they have to face various challenges due to the complexity of obtaining licenses from different agencies. He also commented that the young entrepreneurs will be able to make a big contribution to the country if they get the certificate facilitation and necessary financing.

Dhaka University professor Dr. Rafiuddin Ahmed delivered a timely presentation to equip Youth Entrepreneurs to keep pace with the world in the future. There he mentioned that currently around 26 lakh educated youth are unemployed in Bangladesh. The main reason for this is limited knowledge of entrepreneurship, fear of risk and job dependence. But there are many youngsters who are earning from home by freelancing, some of them earn around 15 thousand rupees per hour. About 7 lakh youths who are freelancing have brought about 10 thousand crores of foreign remittances in 2022, which is 21 thousand crores in 2023. They work from home, they don’t go to any office. Policy is very important. Those who make policies now should keep in mind that the results will be available after 2030.

Managing Director of Bangladesh Finance Limited Md Kaiser Hamid said that many of those who want to become young entrepreneurs or are already doing business do not know how to properly use business loans. Because of which many people cannot manage the business properly. So it is very important to have a proper understanding of how to properly manage a business with a loan.

Director of FBCCI Md. Niaz Ali Chishti said, we have a large population of young generation, if it can be utilized through skilled development, it is possible to fulfill the dream of the honorable Prime Minister of Smart Bangladesh.

FBCCI director, committee co-chairmen and members also addressed the meeting.
