The Technology Industry Policy Advocacy Platform (TIPAP) organized a round table discussion on the use of technology for non-discriminatory development on Saturday (October 12, 2024) at the Bishwo Shahitto Kendro Auditorium located in Banglamotor, Dhaka on the topic of ‘New Journey’. Citizen Platform Technology Industry Policy Advocacy Platform (TIPAP) has emphasized on the use of advanced technology to prevent corruption along with affordable internet for everyone, job creation and improvement of citizen services.

BIDA Executive Chairman Ashiq Chowdhury and BTRC Commissioner Mahmud Hossain were present as special guests in the meeting.

Fahim Mashroor and Fida Haque, two coordinators of the Technology Industry Policy Advocacy Platform (TIPAP) organization, presented this presentation on the use of technology for non-discriminatory development. He also stressed the importance of facilitating software as well as hardware especially PCB design, app monetization. He said, in our country, it is not easy to buy from the app. The main reason is that Bangladesh does not yet have Google Pay. Zero duty facility on import of IoT devices and related equipment and 40 percent hardware purchase for government works from the country. At the same time ownership of the data should be given to the individual.

A digital presentation was presented by the chief executive officer of Talikhata. Shahadat Khan. In the presentation, he highlighted the issue of removing obstacles in the way of expanding the business scope of Kamal Mia, a small businessman, and said that Bangladesh 2.0 will allow him to receive and repay loans by QR code from the bank’s app. For this information asymmetry should be spread. In addition to the use of technology to prevent corruption, group chairman Mahmudul Hasan Sohag opined that half of the problems can be solved if competent people are posted or appointed in the right place. He said, in this case we can use blockchain and AI.

BASIS director Mir Shahrukh Islam, Bangladesh Association of Call Centers and Outsourcing (BAKCO) Tanveer Ibrahim, president of Muthofone Customer Association Mohiuddin Ahmed, Jisan Kingsuk Haque, member of Bangladesh’s top rated freelancer community Abdul Awal Ujjal, Brain Station CEO Raisul Kabir were present in the meeting. , telecom expert Nurul Kabir and others were present.
