Swiss Ambassador pays courtesy call on Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. Reto Rengli paid a courtesy call and breakfast meeting with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on Sunday morning (October 5, 2025).

In the meeting held at 9 am on Sunday, Ambassador Rengli initially inquired about the physical condition of the Jamaat Ameer and wished him a speedy recovery. The discussion, held in a cordial and sincere atmosphere, discussed in detail the overall situation in Bangladesh, mutual investments between Bangladesh and Switzerland, international relations and the prospects for future cooperation.

In the meeting, Ambassador Rengli assured Switzerland’s continued support for Bangladesh’s development progress and expressed hope that the trade and investment relations between the two countries would further expand.

During the discussion, the Ambassador was accompanied by the Head of Political, Economic and Communication Affairs of the Embassy of Switzerland, Mr. Alberto Giovannetti, and the Senior Political, Economic and Press Officer, Mr. Khaled Chowdhury.

On the other hand, the Ameer-e-Jamaat was accompanied by the Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Propaganda and Media Department of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Member of the Central Executive Council, Mr. Mubarak Hossain, and the Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Ameer-e-Jamaat, Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their hope for increasing mutual understanding and cooperation.
