Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh, Dr. Abdullah bin Zafar Abiyah, paid a courtesy call on the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shama Obaed Islam, on Tuesday (October 13, 2026).
During the meeting, the State Minister expressed Bangladesh’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the wake of recent attacks. She conveyed condolences and sympathy regarding the loss of lives and called for the de-escalation of tensions through dialogue and diplomacy.
The State Minister sought Saudi Arabia’s cooperation in expediting the repatriation of the bodies of two Bangladeshi nationals killed in the country. She also expressed gratitude to the Saudi authorities for ensuring medical treatment and care for the injured Bangladeshi nationals.
Saudi Ambassador Dr. Abdullah bin Zafar Abiyah expressed his appreciation for Bangladesh’s solidarity and cooperation.
