Sri Lanka Export Development Board Boosts SMEs’ Global Market Competitiveness

The second ExpoScaleUp pitching event, an initiative to enhance the export capabilities of Sri Lankan small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to make them competitive in the global market, was successfully concluded. The event was held on Thursday (November 20, 2025) at Ramada by Wyndham, Colombo 3, under the Sri Lanka Export Excellence Initiative (SLEEI) 2025.

The event was organized by the Sri Lanka Export Promotion Board (EDB), the internationally recognized International Finance Corporation – South Asia (part of the World Bank Group) and the European Union, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. It was held in collaboration with the EU’s regional initiative ‘Accelerating Climate Smart and Inclusive Infrastructure in South Asia (ACSIIS)’.

The event was attended by 25 high-performing SMEs. They presented their Export Marketing Plans, which were developed through a comprehensive skills development journey as part of the ExpoScaleUp program. They were guided by international consultants and EDB officials from the Netherlands in this process.
