Soybean oil supply will be normal in two days: Trade Advisor

Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin said that the supply of soybean oil will be normal in the next two days.

Today, Monday (March 3, 2025), after visiting the Mohammadpur Town Hall Raw Market, Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin said this in response to various questions from media personnel about the market situation.

Advisor to the Ministry of Industries Adilur Rahman Khan was present at the time.

In response to a question about the supply situation of soybean oil, the Trade Advisor said, there is no shortage of daily necessities. The supply of soybean oil is slightly less. There is nothing to deny that. I hope the supply situation will improve from today.

In response to a question about the increase in the price of soybean oil, Sheikh Bashiruddin said, just as soybean oil is being sold at a higher price, palm oil is being sold at a price 25 taka lower than the price fixed by the government. Sixty percent of our total edible oil is palm oil. The price of oil in the market has decreased and increased at the same time. I hope the price of soybean oil will also decrease.

In response to another question from the media personnel, Industry Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan said that BSTI is operating mobile courts during the holy month of Ramadan to control the quality of products and prevent food adulteration. Today, mobile courts have been operated in four markets. This activity will continue.

At this time, Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Mahbubur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Industry Md. Obaidur Rahman, Director General of the Department of Consumer Rights Protection Mohammad Alim Akhtar Khan and BSTI’s SM Ferdous Alam were present.
