Somali Ambassador Calls on FBCCI Administrator to Strengthen Bangladesh–Somalia Trade Cooperation

Mr. Sheikhnur Mohamed Hossain, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Islamabad, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Administrator of the FBCCI, at the FBCCI office in Motijheel, Dhaka, on Sunday (30 November 2025).

The meeting focused on priority areas for enhancing economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Somalia. Both sides expressed keen interest in expanding bilateral trade and investment, identifying high-potential sectors such as livestock, medical services, and the pharmaceutical industry for strategic collaboration. Strengthened engagement in these areas is expected to generate mutual economic benefits and open new avenues for partnership.

Among others, Head of the International Affairs Wing of FBCCI Mr. Md. Zafar Iqbal ndc, Advisor of the FBCCI Safety Council Brig. Gen. (retd) Abu Nayeem Md. Shahidullah, and Diplomatic Coordinator of the Embassy of Somalia Ms. Asma Haghi were present at the meeting.

FBCCI believes that deeper cooperation with Somalia will help diversify Bangladesh’s export markets and elevate economic relations between the two nations to a new level.
