The second edition of the “Dhaka-China Day” was held in grand style on Thursday (25 September, 2025) at North South University, jointly organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh and North South University. The event drew an impressive crowd of more than 20,000 university faculty members and students.
Yao Wen, Ambassador of China to Bangladesh, Hon’ble Adviser to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Farida Akhter, and North South University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury attended the program as distinguished guests.

In his address, Ambassador Yao Wen highlighted that “Dhaka·China Day” showcases the unique charm of Chinese culture and serves as a bridge for young Bangladeshi students and people from all walks of life to gain a deeper understanding of a real, multi-dimensional and comprehensive China. He expressed optimism about expanding practical cooperation in diverse fields, strengthening exchanges in governance experience, and further elevating bilateral relations.
Adviser Farida Akhter lauded China as a trustworthy and reliable development partner of Bangladesh. She underscored the importance of using the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations as an opportunity to deepen collaboration in economy, trade, education, culture, and agriculture.
The event featured vibrant cultural displays, interactive sessions, and opportunities for students to learn about Chinese traditions and advancements, reflecting the growing people-to-people ties between Bangladesh and China.
