Prof Mohammad Azam joins as Bangla Academy DG

Professor Dr Mohammad Azam today Sunday (8 September, 2024) officially joined as Director General (DG) of Bangla Academy.
 
In line with Section-26(2) and Section-26(3) of the Bangla Academy Act, 2013, the government appointed Prof Mohammad Azam as Director General of Bangla Academy for the next three years from September 5, 2024, according to a press release.
 
The newly-appointed Director General was welcomed by Academy’s Secretary Md Nayed Ali and directors as well as deputy directors at Shaheed Munir Chowdhury conference hall. 
 
While addressing the event, Mohammad Azam said the people of Bangladesh have immense expectations from Bangla Academy and after the upsurge, the aspirations of the countrymen have multiplied. 

He expressed hope that Bangla Academy will be able to become a research-oriented national institute with efforts of all.
