Prime Minister Tarique Rahman starts office at Tejgaon office for the first time

The Prime Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Tarique Rahman, has started office activities at the Prime Minister’s Office located in Tejgaon in the capital for the first time. He arrived at the office today, Saturday (February 21, 2026) at 10:10 am.

Upon reaching the office, Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar and Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon welcomed the Prime Minister. A warm and cordial atmosphere was created in the office premises with the Prime Minister’s arrival.

Before entering the main building of her office, the Prime Minister exchanged greetings with the officials and employees who were in charge during the government of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. She called many old officials and employees of the office by name and spoke to them, which created an emotional moment among everyone present. Those concerned forgot for a while that they were in the presence of the Prime Minister of the country.

On this day, the Prime Minister planted a golden-plated flower sapling in the premises of the office. Then, he thanked Allah Almighty and participated in a special prayer. At that time, Prime Minister’s Defense Advisor Brigadier General Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam, PSC, G (Retd.) and other concerned officials were present.
