Desk Report:
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has inaugurated rooftop solar power systems installed on government buildings belonging to institutions under the Local Government Division in the Fulgazi, Chhagalnaiya, and Parshuram upazilas of Feni.
The Prime Minister inaugurated these solar power systems on Thursday (October 1).

Solar power systems with a total capacity of 960.8 kilowatts have been installed on the rooftops of various government buildings across the three upazilas. Specifically, systems with capacities of 415.6 kW in Chhagalnaiya, 295.8 kW in Parshuram, and 249.4 kW in Fulgazi have been set up.
These solar power systems were installed by utilizing the unused rooftop spaces of government buildings. The project was implemented by the Feni Palli Bidyut Samity and the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB).

Officials concerned stated that this initiative would play a significant role in increasing the use of renewable energy in government institutions, saving electricity, and promoting eco-friendly energy consumption. It will also create opportunities to supply surplus electricity generated from these rooftop systems to the national grid.
This initiative to generate solar power by utilizing the rooftops of government buildings will help expand the scope of renewable energy use in the country and foster a sustainable, eco-friendly management system within the power sector.
