A preparatory meeting regarding the celebration of Sharadiya Durga Puja 2026 was held in Gazipur. The meeting took place on Tuesday (October 6, 2026) at 10:30 AM in the Bhawal Conference Room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Md. Nurul Karim Bhuiyan, the Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur, presided over the meeting. Gazipur District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Jasim Uddin, PPM (Bar), attended as a special guest.
Officers-in-Charge (OCs) from various police stations in the Gazipur district and metropolitan areas, leaders of Puja celebration committees from the respective areas, and officials from the district and police administrations were present at the meeting. Journalists from print and electronic media also participated.
Discussions were held regarding preparations and coordination among the concerned parties to ensure the festival is celebrated in a smooth, peaceful, and festive atmosphere. Leaders of the Puja celebration committees and administrative officials outlined the overall preparations and various issues concerning their respective areas.
During the meeting, the district and police administrations emphasized the need to strengthen coordination among all stakeholders and ensure necessary preparations for the festival.
Emphasis was placed on the cooperation and coordination of the administration, law enforcement agencies, Puja celebration committees, and all relevant parties to ensure that Sharadiya Durga Puja is conducted peacefully and without disruption across various areas of Gazipur district.
