On Tuesday (March 11), the National Citizen Party (NCP) organized an Iftar for the first time at the capital’s Hotel Intercontinental in honor of anti-fascist political figures, professionals, activists, scholars and prominent citizens. The event, organized above party lines, brought together leaders of various political parties in the country.
BNP Standing Committee Member Salah Uddin Ahmed and Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie were present at the Iftar event. Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Secretary General Mamunul Haque, Revolutionary Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Haque, JSD General Secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan and many other political leaders participated.
Besides, Mosaddek Billah Al Madani, presidium member of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Ashraf Ali Akon, Hefazat leader Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Raji, Nagorik Oikya president Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Left Democratic Alliance leader Ruhin Hossain Prince, AB Party general secretary Asaduzzaman Fuad, Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Bangladesh secretary general Manjurul Islam Afendi and AB Party’s new president Mojibur Rahman Manju were present.
Among the student organizations, Chhatra Dal general secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir, Chhatra Shibir central office secretary Sibgatullah, Democratic Chhatra Sansad convener Abu Baker Majumder, and Samajtantrik Chhatra Front’s Mozammel Haque were also present.
Also present at the event were activist Zahedur Rahman, writer Musa Al Hafiz, religious commentator Habibur Rahman Misbah, missing former Lieutenant Colonel Hasinur Rahman, journalist Masud Kamal, and Dhaka University Treasurer Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
