Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin has commented that plastic products can play an important role in our desire to diversify the export potential of products.
He made this comment as the chief guest at the inauguration of the four-day 17th International Plastics, Packaging and Printing Industrial Fair at the Bashundhara International Convention City (ICCB) in Dhaka on Wednesday (February 12, 2025) afternoon.

The Trade Advisor said, we need to set our policies in light of reality. In return, we will eliminate bad plastic and live with good plastic. We must responsibly strive to increase the production and use of good plastic.
He said, our country is going to graduate from LDC in November 2026. As a result, the preferential access (priority benefits) that we get in terms of exports will not be there. The government will not be able to provide any incentives. In this case, we have to increase our competitive capacity to overcome the situation. We have to be competitive in productivity and product production costs. If we do not have the capacity, we will be in great danger, he said.
