Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) has said that there is no doubt about the upcoming 13th National Parliament election.
The advisor said this while briefing reporters after the closing parade of the 63rd batch of women prison guards’ basic training course at the parade ground of the prison training center located in the Kashimpur prison campus in Gazipur on Tuesday (January 27, 2026) afternoon.
The advisor said that whether the election will be unstable or whether the election will be rigged does not depend on what audio message former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave while staying in India. He said that there is no possibility of rigging or destabilizing the election. And if they have the courage, let them come to the country and say it. They are under the law and let them say it under the protection of the law. Since they do not have the courage, they are running away. And the supporters they had in the country, now there are no such supporters. He further said, their supporters have gone to different places. They have gone to different countries, taken refuge. Fascists have fled the country. Different countries have given them shelter. At this time, he sought the cooperation of the countries that provided shelter in returning the fascist criminals to the country.
Stating that there was no corruption in the recruitment process of various forces including the Prisons Directorate during the tenure of the interim government, Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd.) said, this time the recruitment process in various forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs has been 100% transparent and impartial. In this case, no request or lobbying was accepted or no appointment was given in exchange for money. The advisor said, the biggest problem of Bangladesh is corruption. It has penetrated our every nook and cranny. He said, we have to come out of this corruption. But I can say with great courage and determination – corruption has been eliminated in the recruitment of our ministry.
The Home Affairs Advisor said that both the quality and quantity of food for prisoners in prisons have been increased. He urged the new prison guards to fulfill their duties with honesty, efficiency and professionalism, taking the great vow of patriotism.
