Today, Tuesday (January 20, 2026), the 119th meeting of the National Implementation Committee on Administrative Reorganization (NICAR) was held at his residence Jamuna under the chairmanship of the Honorable Chief Advisor.
The meeting was attended by the Honorable Advisor, Ministry of Finance and Honorable Advisor, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, 6 Honorable Advisors of the government, and 14 Secretaries/Senior Secretaries of the government including the Cabinet Secretary and Principal Secretary. A total of 11 proposals related to administrative reorganization were approved in this meeting.
In order to increase transparency, accountability and efficiency in the government’s revenue collection management, a proposal to form two administrative departments named ‘Revenue Policy Division’ and ‘Revenue Management Division’ has been approved. It is to be noted that the Revenue Policy and Revenue Management Ordinance, 2025, has already been issued in this regard.
The proposal to restructure the ‘Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’ by merging the ‘Health Services Division’ and the ‘Health Education and Family Welfare Division’ was approved. In addition, the proposal to change the name of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs to ‘Ministry of Women and Children’ was approved. However, the English name of this ministry (Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MoWCA)) will remain unchanged.
In consideration of environmental global heritage, tourism and economic potential, the proposal to upgrade Satkhira district from a ‘B’ category district to an ‘A’ category district was approved.
The proposal to establish three new police stations named Purbachal North in Gazipur district, Purbachal South in Narayanganj district, and Matarbari in Cox’s Bazar district was approved.
In addition, the proposal to establish another new police station by breaking Raipura in Narsingdi district was approved.
In addition, the proposal to correct the spelling of the name of the ‘Bhulli’ police station in Thakurgaon district and replace it with ‘Bhulli’ was approved.
