The Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka organized a ‘Tourism Promotion and Cultural Program’ to encourage Bangladeshi tourists to visit Nepal. Held on the sidelines of the 13th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF), the event was themed ‘Nepal is Calling: Your Neighbour, Your Next Destination.’
Speaking at the event, Ghanshyam Bhandari, Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, highlighted tourism and people-to-people contact as key areas of cooperation between the two nations. Addressing the impact of recent flash floods in Nepal, he emphasized the country’s resilience and capacity to bounce back.
Urging Bangladeshi tourists to continue visiting Nepal, the Ambassador noted that such visits serve as a gesture of support and solidarity. He affirmed that Nepal’s tourism sector is on the path to recovery, the country is capable of bouncing back, and it remains open to tourists.

During the event, Pratik Karki, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Nepal, delivered a presentation on the country’s diverse tourism potential. The presentation showcased various facets of tourism, including adventure, cultural, and spiritual tourism, as well as wellness and emerging medical tourism sectors.
Karki remarked that Nepal is not merely a travel destination but a place to gain experiences, connect with people, and create lasting memories.

Mohammad Hanif, President of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), and Mohiuddin Helal, Chairman of the Asian Tourism Fair, also spoke at the event. Pramod Dahal, representing the visiting Nepalese delegation, outlined the various initiatives undertaken to revitalize Nepal’s tourism industry following the recent flash floods.
The event featured folk cultural performances from both Nepal and Bangladesh, alongside a raffle draw. Special holiday packages, along with various attractive prizes, are being offered courtesy of the participating tour and travel agencies from Nepal.

It is worth noting that Nepal is participating in the 13th Asian Tourism Fair—held in Dhaka from September 17 to 19—with a 10-member delegation comprising representatives from various Nepalese tour operators and travel agencies.
Representatives from travel agencies, tour operators, hoteliers, and airlines, as well as key figures from the tourism and hospitality sectors in Bangladesh, are participating in the event.
