On the occasion of the anniversary of the July Uprising, the National Citizens Party (NCP) has officially launched the ‘Desh Garte July podojatra’ program. The program began today (July 01, 2025) at around 10:30 am with a visit to the grave of martyr Abu Sayeed, a student movement leader against discrimination, in Babanpur Jafarpara village of Pirganj upazila of Rangpur.
On this occasion, the central leaders of the NCP visited the house of Shaheed Abu Sayeed in the morning. The party’s convener Nahid Islam, member secretary Akhtar Hossain, southern region chief organizer Hasnat Abdullah, northern region chief organizer Sarjis Alam, chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, senior joint coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud and senior joint member secretary Tasnim Zara, along with other leaders, participated in the grave visit.
After paying their respects, the party leaders exchanged greetings with the family members of martyr Abu Sayeed. In an emotional moment, the martyr’s mother patted the head of NCP convener Nahid Islam – this expressed her mother’s blessings on this young leader who had once declared a ‘July Uprising’.
After the grave visit and remembrance, the leaders set off for Gaibandha. The next road meeting and march of the NCP will be held there.
