A four-member delegation of the National Citizen Party (NCP) met with Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus on Monday (January 19, 2026).
In the evening, under the leadership of NCP convener Nahid Islam, the meeting was attended by NCP Central Election Steering Committee Chairman Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, Secretary Monira Sharmin, and Head of Legal Assistance Subcommittee Zahirul Islam Musa.

Cultural Advisor Mustafa Sarwar Farooqui and Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology Faiz Ahmed Tayyab were present at the meeting.
NCP leaders expressed their observations and various concerns regarding the elections in the meeting. They said that NCP leaders and activists from all walks of life are campaigning for a “yes” vote in the referendum.
NCP leaders drew the attention of the chief advisor to several election-related issues and urged the government to be vocal about ensuring a level playing field in the election.
The chief advisor said, “Any complaints and suggestions related to the election will be reported to the government immediately. The government will take whatever action can be taken by the government. Action will be taken so that no one can violate the law.”
The chief advisor also said, “The field administration has been reshuffled through lottery to ensure impartiality. There is no scope for bias in this election. This election is an election to decide the fate of the country. This election is an election to change the country. This election must be fair.”
The chief advisor said that most of the centers will be brought under the control of CCTV cameras by January. In addition, the officials in charge will have body cameras in centers where there is a risk. He also said that all these will be monitored from the control room.
Stating that the government is campaigning legally in favor of a “yes” vote in the referendum, the chief advisor said, “We are trying to explain to the people why it is necessary to vote “yes” in the referendum, what will happen if they vote “yes”. I have also called on all political parties in this regard. It is the responsibility of everyone – the government, the Election Commission, political parties – to ensure that this election is held in a fair and festive atmosphere. I seek the cooperation of all political parties in this regard,” he said.
