Minister Afroza Khanam Rita and Prime Minister’s Advisor Humayun Kabir at the airport to see stranded passengers whose flights were suspended due to the Middle East crisis

Desk Report:

Various international airlines have suspended or canceled flights due to security risks in the wake of the start of the war between the United States, Iran and Israel with Iran in the Middle East. Thousands of passengers from Bangladesh going to the Middle East are in trouble.

A large number of passengers were stranded at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka after the cancellation and suspension of flights was announced Saturday (February 28, 2026) afternoon. Anxiety and uncertainty can be seen among the passengers waiting in different areas of the terminal.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita and Prime Minister’s Advisor Humayun Kabir went to the airport in the evening to inspect the situation. They visited different parts of the terminal and spoke to the stranded passengers.
