Manarat International University held ‘Club Leadership Felicitation 2025’ at the Permanent Campus Auditorium in Ashulia on Saturday (July 26, 2025). Teachers, students and administration officials gathered at the event to felicitate the newly elected presidents and general secretaries of various clubs of the university.
The program was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdur Rob, as the chief guest. The Dean of the School of Business and Economics and Convener of the Club Supervisory Committee, Md. Mahbub Alam, presided over the event. The special guest was Professor of Dhaka University and UGC-nominated Syndicate Member, Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam.

At the beginning of the program, the Vice-Chancellor greeted and congratulated the newly elected club presidents with flowers. The Dean of the School of Engineering, Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Dean of Arts and Humanities School Dr. Abu Ayub Md. Ibrahim, Controller of Examinations and Acting Registrar A.H.M. Abu Sayyed and Acting Director of Student Welfare Abdul Matin and many others.

The newly elected presidents and general secretaries of various clubs spoke at the event. Among the leaders who gave speeches were Mohammad Abdul Qayyum of Sports Club, Walid Bin Zaman (boy) and Sirajam Monira (girl) of Morality and Ethics Club, Sheikh Takib Hasan of Business Club, Md. Mahmudul Haque of EEE Club, Yasir Arafat of Cultural Club, Moshiur Rahman of English Club, S. M. Motashim Billah of Law Club, Md. Anis Uddola of CSE Club and Md. Asif Abdullah of Gulshan Sports Club. Debate Club General Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman (boy) and Shathi Khatun (girl) also spoke.

In his speech as the chief guest, Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdur Rob said, “The graduates of Manarat International University have earned considerable fame in the public and private sectors of the country and abroad. Co-educational activities have a major role behind this success, which is run through our 15 active clubs.”
He also said, “Club members are the lifeblood of the university. The previous fascist regime had unjustly occupied the university. However, Manarat was liberated through the July Revolution last year and the current administration has taken various developmental steps, where the role of clubs is important.”
The Vice-Chancellor also announced that special scholarships will be arranged for those who will bring fame to the university at the national level in sports, competitions, literary and cultural activities.
At the end of the ceremony, the newly elected club leaders pledged to actively participate in co-curricular activities and assured full cooperation in the development initiatives of the university administration.
