A delegation of Kawasaki Chamber of Commerce and Industry paid a courtesy call on Honorable Ambassador Md. Dawood Ali at the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo.
The delegation mentioned that Kawasaki is one of the industrial and commercial centers of Japan. They expressed interest in importing skilled manpower from Bangladesh. They said that there is a need for a large number of skilled workers, especially in the construction and information technology (IT) sectors.

A seminar was organized in Kawasaki in a joint initiative with the Bangladesh Embassy to expand bilateral trade and commerce and there was also discussion on exchange of visits between businessmen of both countries.
Honorable Ambassador Md. Dawood Ali highlighted various steps taken by the Bangladesh government to develop skilled human resources. He called for the appointment of Bangladeshi workers in various industries in Kawasaki. The ambassador said that Bangladesh has a sufficiently trained and skilled workforce in various fields including nursing, caregiving, information technology and ready-made garment industry.
He also mentioned that considering the importance of bilateral economic relations, the Bangladesh government has allocated a special economic zone for Japan. The ambassador also invited businessmen of the Kawasaki Chamber to visit Bangladesh.
It was hoped that the meeting would play a positive role in further strengthening economic and manpower cooperation between Bangladesh and Japan.
