The Trade Adviser said, Chinese investment in Bangladesh has increased by 300 percent. We need to find out our weaknesses. We need to move forward through exchange of experience. There is an opportunity to move forward if we can utilize China’s experience in production and packaging.
In response to a question about Bangladesh’s progress compared to China and Japan, Trade Adviser Sheikh Bashiruddin said, Bangladesh is ahead in many areas, including ready-made garments. Bangladesh is the world’s second largest exporter of ready-made garments, but overall we are lagging behind.

Stating that he has sought cooperation to increase road infrastructure and transport capacity, the advisor said, the number of people killed in road accidents in Bangladesh every year is horrific. In this regard, road infrastructure development and transport system need to be improved. We have sought cooperation from China, one of our development partners, in this regard.
