Japan Hands Over Electoral Materials to the Bangladesh Election Commission

On Thursday (November 27), Japan Ambassador to Bangladesh SAIDA Shinichi attended the handover ceremony of electoral materials procured through the UNDP BALLOT Project with the support of the Government of Japan. The ceremony was held at the Bangladesh Election Commission (BEC) premises in the presence of the Honourable Chief Election Commissioner Mr. A M M Nasir Uddin and UNDP Resident Representative Mr. Stefan Liller.

Japan’s contribution—equivalent to 695M JPY or 4.8M USD —supports Bangladesh’s efforts to ensure peaceful and credible national elections. The materials handed over today, including indelible ink and stamp pads, will play an essential role in strengthening transparency and election-day operations across the country.

Japan remains a steadfast partner of Bangladesh. Together with BEC, UNDP, and other partners, we are committed to supporting peaceful and democratic political transition in Bangladesh.
