The Indonesia-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) organized an Iftar Mahfil in honor of the Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Listiwati. The event was attended by the State Minister for Finance and Planning, along with top business leaders and members of the diplomatic corps.

The current President of IBCCI inaugurated the event. During his speech, Ambassador Listiwati highlighted the long-standing friendly and strong diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Indonesia. He said that trade and economic cooperation between the two countries is continuously expanding and there is an opportunity to further strengthen mutual partnerships in various sectors.

The Ambassador praised the activities of IBCCI and said that this organization is playing an important role in building bridges between the business communities of the two countries and increasing private sector cooperation.
He also said that this year Indonesia is serving as the chair of the Developing-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8). The ‘D-8 Halal Expo’ will be organized alongside the D-8 Summit to be held next April. Mentioning that Bangladesh is an important and active member of the D-8, he called on Bangladeshi businessmen to actively participate in these events so that bilateral trade, investment and economic relations are further strengthened.
The Iftar Mahfil ended in a warm and cordial atmosphere, which reflects the spirit of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
It is worth noting that Ambassador Listiwati arrived in Dhaka on 17 January 2026 and presented his credentials to the President of Bangladesh on 22 January 2026.
