Home Minister orders police stations to be free of brokers

Desk Report:

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has ordered police stations across the country, including the capital Dhaka, to be free of brokers.

The minister gave this instruction to senior police officers and concerned persons during his visit to Ramna Model Police Station under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Saturday (May 2, 2026).

During the visit to the police station, the minister observed the overall environment of the police station, including various rooms and detention centers. He spoke to the police members on duty, including the police officer and duty officer of the police station, inquired about their inquiries, and listened carefully to various problems.

The minister instructed the police members and those present to provide services to the general public and service recipients with honesty, fairness, and sincerity. The minister warned that strict action will be taken against any of the police members if allegations of negligence of duty and corruption are proven against them.
