French Ambassador to Dhaka, Mr. Jean-Marc Serre-Charlet, paid a courtesy call on Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. The meeting was held at the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in the capital on Sunday (January 25, 2026) evening.
The ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Frederic Inza, Deputy Ambassador of the French Embassy, and Mr. Julien Dur, Economic Advisor.

The meeting, held in a very cordial and cordial atmosphere, discussed various issues of interest to both countries, including the upcoming parliamentary elections in Bangladesh. The meeting emphasized on further strengthening the existing friendly relations between the two countries and increasing mutual cooperation.
During the meeting, both sides expressed their hope that political, economic and diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and France would further strengthen in the future.
At that time, Honorable Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman was accompanied by Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Assistant Secretary General and Head of Central Propaganda and Media Department of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, eminent educationist Dr. Zubair Ahmed and Ameer-e-Jamaat’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan.
